Our accounts team specialise in implementing computerised systems for charities to allow them to keep track of restricted funds and to manage the day to day finances of the organisation. They are also experts in Charity SORP, ensuring that you are compliant with the ever-changing demands of the Charity Commission in preparing your year-end reports.

Our audit team act for a number of the top 3,000 charities with incoming resources up to £50 million, across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, education, conservation and religion. All staff receive regular training to ensure they are aware of any changes that may impact charities and this expert knowledge is applied to all assignments. We routinely prepare a detailed report to management at the end of all charity audit assignments to document any key findings from our work and to provide a summary of external factors that impact the sector.

Our tax team have a vast amount of experience providing specialist tax advice to the not-for-profit sector. They have advised charities in a number of areas including:

  • VAT status, particularly partial exemption
  • VAT reclaims on capital projects
  • Completion of annual tax returns, including form CT600E
  • Corporation tax of trading arm
